I first met Janine Botha almost 8 years ago when she took the chance and hired me as a return to work mum.  Little did I know that working with her would change the course of my life – literally.  It still astounds me today when I think back to the person I was back then and how I have changed and grown over the years.  You see, Janine has a way of seeing people’s potential and then getting them to see it and believe it for themselves.

Having worked closely with her over the 5 years when she was my Manager and Director of People & Culture, I saw this on an almost daily basis – she could see through things and ask the questions that needed to be asked – including the hard ones.  This could be observed on an organisational level as well as a personal level.

Janine has coached and supported myself and many others as we faced up to our fears and found solutions to our problems.  Janine is  patient and encouraging and loves seeing people push outside their comfort zone and succeed!  I still laugh to myself about how nervous I was the first time I ran a workshop and she was right there beside  me and it was her confidence in me that got me through that first one – not mine.  I used mine the next time!

Another thing that impresses me about Janine is her integrity and honesty and the fact that she ‘walks the talk’ – what you see is what you get – she is always there 100% for the person or team or company she is with and the relationship of trust that she builds with people is as important to her as it is to those she works with and coaches.

I highly recommend Janine as a person who has a great ability to understand a problem and work with others to find a solution – whether it be a personal matter or an organisational issue – she has a great understanding of people and behaviour and how to facilitate change and success.

I am truly grateful to Janine as she mentored and guided me at a time in my life where I was really unsure of where I was going and what I was doing both personally and professionally.  Janine gave me the tools and the skills to be confident and to step outside of my comfort zone. Midyear of 2000, I was introduced to Janine Botha while I was employed by Getronics Aust. Janine’s role was in the People and Culture team (Human Resources Department). I first experienced Janine’s workshops then and quickly became hooked on the concepts of positive attitude coaching, leadership, FISH and standard Human Resourced based workshops all run by Janine and her colleagues.

Throughout my seven years working for Getronics Aust, I witnessed a positive change to the culture of the company, which was made possible by the endless efforts of Janine, her workshops, her guidance and her passion to make change. Supported by the senior management team, Janine introduced the FISH principles which were then rolled out to all offices around Australia. My first hand experience to Janine’s coaching structure was with this program, leaving me with lifetime skills of facilitation, mediation and most importantly, respect.

Janine’s professional skill set combined with her caring nature create safe environments to discuss issues, be coached and manage the diversity of today’s culture within the workplace and home. My career path and personal journey has been a reflection on the skills I have adopted, the tools I now use and the guidance of a mentor. For this, I am truly thankful.
